A daily JLPT N5–N1 study path
Frequently asked questions
How is my study path built?
After a quick 25-question test, mimi knows which section is your weakest and how many days remain until the exam. Each week focuses on one section, and any section below the minimum score comes first; every Sunday you retest to adjust the path.
How does Review differ from Mock exam?
Review shows the answer and explanation right after each question, with no timer. A mock exam works like the real test day: timed, listening played once, and answers shown only after you submit.
Does it cost anything?
No. You can start practicing right away without signing up. Sign in with Google to keep your path, your mistakes (turned into flashcards) and your pass probability on every device.
How is the JLPT score calculated?
N1, N2 and N3 have 3 sections: Vocabulary · Grammar, Reading and Listening, each worth up to 60 points, 180 in total. N4 and N5 have 2 sections: Language Knowledge · Reading (120 points) and Listening (60 points). mimi scores on exactly this scale and shows each section's score.
What score do I need to pass the JLPT?
Overall passing score: N1 100/180, N2 90/180, N3 95/180, N4 90/180, N5 80/180. In addition, every section must reach a minimum (19 points for a 60-point section, 38 points for a 120-point section); missing one section means failing even if the total is enough.
