Noun for a sweet eaten at the end of a meal: デザートにケーキを食べる. Do not confuse it with 砂漠 (さばく, desert), which sounds similar in English desert/dessert; お菓子 means sweets in general.

Examples

食事のあとのデザートが楽しみです。I look forward to dessert after the meal.
デザートはアイスクリームとケーキから選べます。For dessert, you can choose between ice cream and cake.
