Adverb: 思わず笑う, 思わず声を出す (to laugh / cry out involuntarily). Used for unconscious, unintended actions. Different from つい (doing something you know you shouldn't) and うっかり (carelessly, by oversight).

Examples

面白い話を聞いて、思わず笑ってしまった。Hearing a funny story, I couldn't help laughing.
急に名前を呼ばれて、思わず振り向いた。Suddenly called by name, I turned around without thinking.
