Noun: 質がいい/悪い, 質を高める, 量より質. Contrasts with 量 (quantity). Different from 品質 (quality of goods) and 性質 (nature). The character 質 is also read しち in 質屋 (pawnshop) and appears in 質問 (しつもん).

Examples

この店は値段は高いが、質がいい。This shop is expensive, but the quality is good.
勉強は量より質が大切だと思う。I think quality matters more than quantity in studying.
