Hỏi để biết điều chưa rõ (道を尋ねる), trang trọng hơn 聞く. Cũng viết 訪ねる (đến thăm) khác nghĩa. Đề đặt cạnh 頼る, 頼む, 預ける – phân biệt theo nghĩa hỏi so với nhờ cậy.
