to change; to become different
Intransitive verb: 色が変わる, 天気が変わる, 気持ちが変わる. The transitive verb is 変える. Distinguish from 替わる/代わる (to be replaced) and 換わる (to be exchanged); 変わる stresses something becoming different by itself.
