Structure: V-ます(bỏ ます) ＋上げる／V-ます(bỏ ます) ＋上がる

Attached after a verb to express fully completing a task that requires effort. The transitive form is 〜上げる (書き上げる), the intransitive form is 〜上がる (焼き上がる). Used only with certain verbs, so do not attach it freely.

Examples

やっとレポートを書き上げた。I've finally finished writing the report.
ケーキが焼き上がりました。The cake has finished baking.
