Khuyên ai làm gì hoặc mời dùng (本／お茶を勧める). Đừng nhầm với 進める (đẩy tiến) và 薦める (giới thiệu sách, người). Bị động 勧められる không có nghĩa "làm dịu cơn giận" (なだめる).
