備える（そなえる）

chuẩn bị, phòng bị; trang bị

Chuẩn bị trước cho điều có thể xảy ra, dùng với に (災害に備える) hoặc nghĩa “có sẵn, trang bị” (設備を備える). Khác 整える (sắp xếp chỉnh tề) và 蓄える (tích trữ).
